Saturday July 28, 2007 -  Boat vs. Boat

On Saturday after noon around 2 p.m. North and South Coventry were dispatched to a reported boat accident.  The PD arrived on scene quickly and found no injuries after two boats collided.  There was only the wreckage and a gas leak from the gas tank on the pontoon boat.  The pontoon boat  was beached on the shore with nobody on board when the Boston Whaler crashed into it.  The Boston Whaler was also unoccupied when it crashed into the pontoon because the operator of the Boston Whaler had been knocked over board by an unsecured object on the boat .  The boat crashed into the pontoon boat and came to rest on top of it.  The fire departments worked to contain the spill of gas and turned the scene over to the DEP.  (Pictures courtesy of M.
