21, 2006 - Farm House Structure Fire, Silver Street.
On Thursday morning, December 21, 2006 a
report of a structure fire on Silver street was dispatched out., North
Coventry, South Coventry and Andover were
dispatched to the scene as a the first alarm assignment. Car 115 who
happened to be working near by was on scene in less than a minute and
confirmed the structure fire. He immediate added a full assignment
from Bolton, Tank 140 and 440 from Tolland and UCONN for their RIT team.
ET208 was the first apparatus on scene. Interior attacks were made on
the basement level as this is where it appears the fire originated. Fire
worked its way up the walls to the second and third floors. As additional
manpower arrive interior crews worked on all levels to contain the fire.
The was primarily contained to the C side of the structure and some D side
damage. The attic area sustained substantial damage to the roof.
Tower 122 provided excellent ventilation while ET115 established a water
hole. The attic space was used to store many items much of it had to
be removed due to the extensive fire damage. The pictures are of the
house after the fire had been extinguish. Apparatus on scene were
Rescue 111, Rescue 211, ET 211, ET 311, E111, ET108, ET208, ET308, R508,
ET115, ET215, Tank140, Tank440, Tower122, ET134, ET234, Vernon's Service 441
was also on scene to fill SCBA bottles.
